Dr. Bindiya Hassaram
Bindiya is a special educator, inclusion consultant, instructional coach and life coach. She holds a Ph.D. in Multicultural Special Education from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Learning Disabilities from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Bindiya has worked as a learning specialist with students identified with learning differences and those at-risk, in international schools in Indonesia, India, the UK and the US. She has also worked extensively with novice and experienced teachers in both supervisory and coaching roles.
Bindiya works with local schools in Bombay, India and conducts workshops globally.
Currently Bindiya is engaged at the Gateway School of Mumbai as a Program Development Coach. She works primarily with the High School Adaptive Program and the Career Path Program, putting systems and processes in place. Her current aspiration is to build capacity in organizations so that they can become inclusive workplaces.
Bindiya also serves as a consultant with an inclusive preschool, building collaborations with therapists who can support young learners in their preschool years.
Bindiya has also worked with CHIP International, USA, since 2021, curating and conducting workshops for special education teachers and leaders in Ghana, West Africa. The workshops have focused on cultivating a growth mindset, maintaning a posiitve classroom culture, teaching using UDL strategies, conducting child studies, and writing IEP goals.

Alexandra Couet

Alexandra is a bi-national (France and the United States). While she spent her childhood in France, she spent latter years in the United States. She started her career in Special Education delivering early intervention to three-year olds with delayed development in New York City, prompting her to enroll in a Master's Programme in Special Education. After completing her Master's degree in Special Education at the City University of New York, Alexandra moved to London teaching students with learning difficulties at the American School of London. During this time, Alexandra joined forces with two colleagues-turned-friends to support early education in Eastern Sri Lanka which had suffered the most following the 2004 Tsunami. After two years in London, she permanently moved to France on the border of Switzerland where Alexandra has been teaching at the International School of Geneva since 2007. A lover of nature and open spaces, she enjoys her free time with her partner and son exploring the mountains or enjoying water activities. Alexandra also loves travelling and is patiently waiting for the opportunity to return to Sri Lanka and experience new parts of the world again.
