Conference for the Inclusion of Children with Special Needs

The first-ever Congress for the Inclusion of Children with Special Needs held in Dakar, Senegal in 2025 took on the challenge of reducing the imbalance in education for children with special needs in Senegal.

The conference focused on experiences, best practices, programs, and policies for inclusive education, and featured the Minister for Education as well as other government officials,
and a cross-section of parents, teachers, advocates, and civil society organizations. The guest of honour was the first lady of Senegal.

Objectives:

• Bring together the decision-makers and the general public on issues surrounding children with special needs.

• Offer these children a platform for their complaints and concerns.

• Present and discuss successful social and professional experiences in areas of education and health.

• Provide a platform for networking all actors involved in the care of children with special needs in Senegal.
